So here I am on a Sunday night. We haven't been home for too long as we had band practice. It was very warm in the somewhat decently sized room we practice in. But we had three fans going and they owner tells us that the entire studio (all of the recording studio rooms as well as the room where we practice) will be air conditioned soon which will be awesome! Hopefully they won't be charging much more but I'd be willing to put in a little more money for each practice to have AC in there. But hopefully we'll have enough shows coming up to keep us from having too many practices for a while. But I will get more into that in a few...
Chad and I were watching a movie but his friend called in the middle of it. For this particular friend's calls Chad always goes outside and they are generally on the phone for a minimum of an hour. If I knew that Chad were gay I would think of them as being in a homosexual longdistance relationship because I can't imagine spending ATLEAST 6 hours per week on the phone with someone that you aren't in some kind of relationship with haha So it'd be nice if he got in here so we could finish the movie. And I am waiting for my laundry to finish up. YAY for clean clothes to start the week of with! Wooohoo!
Now...Chad and I went to a club very close to here because we wanted to check out the band that was playing last. We caught them on myspace because we saw that they were playing this club where we wanted to play. So I looked up bands that were going to be playing there and lo and hehold it turned out that Root of the Sick were playing there the next night! I checked out their music and we loved it! I sent them a message through myspace. Their bassist listened to our music and told us that he wished that he had heard of us sooner because he would have had us play before them last night!
Their set was so incredible! Their music was 10 times (atleast) better live than the mp3s that I had heard had lead me to believe that they are. It was so amamzing! I had promised their bassist a copy of our demo CD even though he'd heard all three songs on myspace. But he said that he would give us many listens. They more-or-less guaranteed to get us shows. They had already given me a few tips on places to talk with about playing.
I e-mailed about 5 more places about playing shows there. Whenever they want. I am not sure that I'll hear back from more than two of them right now but I have a good feeling that we will atleast hear back from two of them in particular. We'll play them and/or the other ones some day after our name drifts to them from playing other shows at other places in the area. Wish us luck on scoring some more gigs, please =0) And we're still waiting back on word of what the audio engineer of a BIG studio in Philly wants us to do to record our next three songs. We should be able to work out a great deal but we're still waiting as patiently as we can to find out what he would want us to do for the free recording.
Hmm this really wasn't meant to be so totally band related but there isn't a whole lot else going on. Well...
Because my direct deposit didn't go through yet (this weekend maybe?) and my check didn't come until late Saturday afternoon, I have to wait until atleast Tuesday to get my car back. And it will probably be after work because because they won't open before I have to be at work. So two more round trips, atleast, on the bus =0( But I am praying to have my car back and ready to go by Tuesday late afternoon/evening at the latest.
Jenn's grandparents offered to help with our cell phone bill which will be ohhhhh soooo very helpful because due to paying for my new tires and everything involved with the entire process, I am going to cut it very, very short after rent this month. And I don't feel right in asking Chad for too much money right now when we all know that atleast some amount of money will go in to his car even though we don't know yet at this point how much that will be. But we don't want to be taking too much from him at this point so that hopefully he can afford to pay for whatever ends up needing to be done as soon as he finds out what needs to be done. It's a struggle but the best we can do is work our asses off and pay for everything we can. And we're spending very, very little on anything that isn't necessary. We even cut back a good deal on food. We do put a little money into renting a movie or two but honestly...how much hard-assed work can you put in without a little something each week before it really feels that it is nowhere near worth the struggle you're putting up?
As soon as Chad can start getting money to us regularly I will be looking into debt consolidation. Consider all of the different options and companies. Pick one that will do the most with the least hassle and extra money in the long run. I mean I don't mind giving them extra money over time by the time that it's all over and everything's said and done but I don't want it to be astronomical nor pay too much more on each payment. They should be able to get rid of the "over limit" fees and "late payment" fees as well as cut back the actual debt that I owe them. And then help with my student loans. Turn all of my many payments into one (hopefully!) simple payment each month. All of this is part of my plan on the road to financial reconstruction. Hell yeah it will be difficult! But it definitely has to be possible. I don't think that anyone should be able to so completely destroy one of the most important numbers (scores) in this day and age when you're only 20 or so. You know? Make it easy enough to overcome it so that it doesn't seem like a worthless cause. And it's easier for some to look past it without trying to change it when they are in their early twenties. But then what happens when they start having children. It's a bad cycle for everyone really. I don't want to have to need money from someone to get through. Just want help now to get ourselves even. It can be done. We'll find a way.
That's about it for now. Jenn should be back very shortly and who knows when the hell chad will kiss his male phone date goodnight via cell phone transmission haha YES, keeping me waiting to finish a movie for over an hour does earn one some gay jokes.
Goodnight and have a good start to your week!
