2006: An Early Start...
January 01, 2006 | 2:10 P.M.

I can't believe how few number of entries I left for all of 2005! You can click here to view last year's archive page in a new window to see just how few I'd posted. It's sad. Hopefully we'll see more from me in 2006!

So I decided to start of right by posting on the first day.

So I went straight to my mom and Rob's from work. It was Rob's birthday aside from just being New Year's Eve so it was that much cooler to be down there. As soon as I got there I ran to the store to pick up ring bologna and cheese and it's a good thing that I walked there so quickly as I got there 10 minutes before they locked the door. They were another normally 24/7 store that was actually closing for New Years Eve/New Years Day.

I got back and my mom made us some turkey sandwiches with the turkey they'd cooked while I was at work. We watched a movie that took us up until 11pm and then we watched the TV events for New Years and then some of the fireworks which were being set off very close to where I work...also...very close to my apartment but closer to work. And then we put on a second movie. I drank some coffee during this one but still dozed slightly at one point for a few minutes. I will have to watch the movie again as I had never watched it before so I will have to see what I ended up missing but it was good nontheless.

I slept pretty well and woke up and figured that I should get ready to catch the next train back so I could come home and get stuff done before work (ie. wash work clothes, shower, take the dog out, etc...). Unfortunately I have to miss the last Eagles game of the season but hopefully they can pull out a win to end the season and perhaps play upset to the Redskins in their quest for the playoffs.

After work which will technically be VERY early january 2nd (about 1am) I will get my first kiss of 2006 from Jenn. Just after midnight she sent me a picture of her from the ball giving me a kiss which she took with her cell phone and sent to me in a multimedia message hehe Hopefully next year we'll actually be in the same place for New Years.

Worthy of noting: On my way up 11th street from the train station and there was a group of Mummers wearing blue and pink uniforms on the east side of the street and another group of Mummers wearing black and red uniforms on the west side of the street on which I was walking. They were blowing their brass instruments and screaming and yelling back and forth. I was waiting for a FABULOUSLY colored bloodshed to ensue as they try to prove which brigaide is the best hah I happen to be watching the parade on television despite the fact that it is taking place only a handfull of blocks from my apartment. As much as I'd enjoy it out there my legs already hurt too much and I have to stand all evening at work so alas, I sit here watching it.

Well that's about it as I have to check on my clothes in the dryer to make sure that they are dry for when I have to leave for work as well as take the dog to the doggie park.

Happy New Years 2006 and here's to many more posts this year and to a great year for us all!

PS. next entry posted may include my New Years Resolution.
