Health Sucks.

So much shit can happen to any one person and any one time. Ya know? And I am sure you do. But all-in-all..what's going on with me right now isn't so bad. Atleast I hope not. But it certainly feels like it's just piling up.
I went to work for my 12 hour shift on Wednesday. I started out feeling pretty decent. Didn't have any reason to think that it would be any different of a day. But then I started feeling ill like the times that I was struck be dehydration. So i drank a lot of water and gatorade. But it didn't seem to be helping. I was worried about it being a problem with my kidneys. I called Jenn and gave her a list of my symptoms and asked her to look them up online and see what it could possibly be. Well it was close to the sympotms of renal failure except that my symptoms would have been more extreme and I would have been vomitting violently.
Then I started feeling a little better until around 6pm. I could feel that I was starting to get warmer. And then I noticed something like a rash on my left ankle but thought that was the least of my worries at the time.
By the time I was to leave to go home I was feeling dizzy and although I had no way to monitor my temperature, I knew that it was up there.
I get home, get changed and lay on the couch. We take my temperature and it was at 101.7. Jenn went across the street to Acme for me to try to get something to bring the fever down because it was getting a little too high. I checked it while she was gone and only a couple of minutes later it was at 101.9. She brought back some stuff to help reduce the fever to a less dangerous level.
With the fever the muscles in my legs were really hurting but I didn't really feel any other symptoms of some sickness such as the flu.
I had left a voice mail for my boss before I left on Wednesday night explaining what was going on the best that I could at the time and then I couldn't get through to her cell phone on Thursday morning so I left another voicemail at our company service. I told her that I still have a fever but haven't been able to get through to any doctors for an appointment yet.
Now on Thursday I noticed that the "rash" was weird. It was more red. And whatever it was wasn't above skin level. My ankle was swollen all around the the rash and it hurt to walk. It hurt in the muscles bellow the swollen area.
The fever returned Thursday night but not to the same extent as the previous night luckily.
By Friday my whole ankle was swollen as well as the back half of my foot. I still went to the Eagles game! Jenn's friend Scot who's visiting us from Chicago rented a car and drove us to and from the stadium which greatly minimized the walking but when we got home my ankle was VERY SWOLLEN..atleast, quite literally, half of it's normal size.I used ice on and off the way that the pack suggested and kept it elevated.
I stayed off of it on Saturday as much as I could which was a success because I was on it only long enough to get a salad from Acme next store and something to drink for the day. It was a good, relaxing day. But my ankle was still a cause for going to have it looked at.
I sent my boss an E-mail with a picture of "rash" and one of both of my ankles together so she could see the difference betweek the left and right ankle. And I told her that I will get a doctor's note for the days I'd missed and telling when I could return to work. I got her reply this morning and she told me that she was displeased that I called her as late on Friday as I did and that I need a note stating when I can return back to work in order to return back to work at all.
I called her on Friday when I woke up but I kept waking up all night with fever and the pain from the swelling so I slept until later than I normally would. But whatever.
I scheduled an appointment with a doctor I haven't seen in years. It'll cost me $75 for the appointment and we'll see what happens as far as prescription(s) will go. Hopefully it doesn't run much more because I am already going to be losing money for the lost days. But overall I am hoping that this isn't anything to serious and won't be sent to the hospital because that means far more days lost most likely and a hell of a lot more money being paid out.
Well wish me luck. I will post the results after I find out as well as go into posting about the Eagles game because that deserves a whole entire post of its own!
